Membership and Administration
MEMBERSHIP IN AMCSUS:
Regular membership is extended to essentially military schools which have a member of the armed services detailed or approved by the Department of Defense, and which maintain good standing in their regional accrediting organization. (An "essentially military" school is defined as an institution with military programs approved by one of the military services and an institution which organizes its student body as a cadet corps, with students habitually in uniform and continually under military discipline while under the jurisdiction of the college or school.)
Associate membership may be granted to schools offering a military program but which do not otherwise qualify for regular membership.
Schools interested in exploring membership should contact the Executive Director (amcsus@cox.net) or 703-272-8406.
ADMINISTRATION AND OFFICERS: Headquarters are located in the greater Washington D.C. area. The Association is served by an Executive Director who, among other duties, is charged with promoting and supporting the best interests of member schools, administering association affairs on a day-to-day basis, monitoring military and legislative programs and practices, fostering good public relations, providing professional development opportunities, and reporting to members on items of interest and concern.
The Executive Director reports to an Executive Committee, selected by the members, which provides strategic direction to the association by establishing and monitoring organizational goals.
